The 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Brûlés is a richer, ampler wine than the Combottes, wafting from the glass with notes of musky peach, citrus blossom and a spicy framing of new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and foursquare, with good tangy acids and a saline finish despite its scale and power. It's matured in 100% new wood, but it has digested it remarkably well.
