Chateau Camensac video

Bordering the Saint-Julien appellation, the Château Camensac, in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, produces an Haut-Médoc. It shares the unforgettable qualities of its illustrious neighbours: the Châteaux Belgrave, Lagrange and La Tour Carnet. These crus have set worthy precedents but Camensac's distinctive charm has always allowed it to blaze its own trail and it nearly got lost. When the Forner de Marqués de Caceres brothers, its previous owners, acquired it in 1965, it was in a dismal state. The complete renaissance Camensac is experiencing is in great part due to their work. The year 2005 was another milestone: Céline Villars-Foubet, owner of Chasse-Spleen, and her uncle, Jean Merlaut, owner of Gruaud-Larose, purchased Camensac and determined to redeem the honour of its 1855 Bordeaux classification. Its 75 hectares of pleasantly undulating gravelly land, a boon for wine-growing, now benefit from the new castellans' experience managing classified crus and exceptional brands. This terroir is boldly affirming its personality through their stringent and extremely localized grape selection. Camensac wants to be a declaration of delectation.
