If the history of the Château Giscours started in the 14th Century, its entrance into the wine making adventure only dates



back to 1552, thanks to Pierre de Lhomme, a wealthy Bordeaux draper. Along centuries and successive owners (the Promis, Pescatore or Cruse Families), this growth won acclaim until it even was formally recognized in 1855, in the imperial classification, as a third classified growth. In Labarde, a town of the Margaux area, Giscours enjoys its 90 hectares of vines and boasts its majestic freestone silhouette. No one could remain impervious to the elegance of this neo-classical palace and of its vast grounds planted with trees and magnificent buildings such as the ancient staples and the famous 'Suzanne Farm'. Back in 1995 a Dutch businessman, Eric Albada Jelgersma (already owner of another Margaux estate, the Château du Tertre) fell in love with this growth. Over 15 years at Alexander Van Beek's (General Manager) behest, this growth has built a beautiful reputation. Boasting the famous Margaux style of finesse, femininity and sensuality has it is confirmed by the Giscours and the Sirène de Giscours, these wines have brought this brand to the heights of international fame.
